While I was waiting for a table at New King, a Chinese restaurant on the Zeedijk,  the waiter recommended me Cocktail bar Sake and Co, to have a drink first, before our table was ready.

Although it seemed like the restaurant and the cocktail bar had the same owner, it was a good tip!
The bar has place for 30/40 people, with benches and seats all around.

The bar looks quite fancy, with a Japanese lounge interior and a big beamer at the back.

The most important part of course: the cocktails. There is a list of 10 to 15 cocktails, which is not that spectacular but the ones I’ve tried were very good. Of course you can find all of the other liquors as well, and a choice of 8 different  types of Sake.

The main difference with cocktail bars like Door 74 is that at those bars the staff are real cocktail shakers.  At Sake & Co they are not.

But for a nice cocktail after a tour in the Red Light District, before or after dinner at a nice restaurant near Nieuwmarkt, this is a bar definitely worth trying!

Happy hour: Daily from 5 pm – 9 pm and Cocktail night on Thursday (6 euro’s a cocktail)
