Da Damiano is an Italian restaurant in ‘Oud West’, the west part of Amsterdam closest to the city centre. It’s a 10 minute walk from the Leidseplein or two stops with tram 1. Da Damiano is located in the Jan Pieter Heijestraat, which is a very nice street full of bars, restaurants and nice (coffee) shops.  The Italian kitchen is from the south here which you can really taste. The staff is all native Italian, and they have an Italian mama in the kitchen!

The interior looks a bit old fashioned but it’s really trattoria Italian wise decorated. The menu has allot of choice; primi and second piatti’s but also pizza’s. The saltimbocca is a treat and the anti – pasti is a good choice for a starter. The wine is affordable so average.  Your courses are being made and served with allot of love. Don’t let the grumpy old waiter scare you because he has allot of love for his profession!

The deserts are all home made so really fresh. If your smart you keep a little space for those!
