If you are ever planning to visit Amsterdam, this is one of the best dates to do it.

Queensnight and Queensday in Amsterdam are parties that are one of a kind.

Because Queensday is a public holiday (we celebrate the birthday of the former queen Juliana, the mother of Queen Beatrix) and people in the Netherlands love to party, we start the party on the night before: Queensnight!
The celebration takes place on several outdoor locations, but also in all of the big clubs and good bars.

The difference between Queensnight and Queensday is that Queensnight is full of locals and on Queensday there are a lot of people from outside of Amsterdam as well (expected visitors + 1mln) who all come to party.

What both days have in common is the orange daze!
On both queensnight and queensday people are dressed up in orange clothing and wear creative orange accesoires.
The colour orange is a ubiquitous sight, referring to the name of our royal family, the House of Orange. Everywhere in the city you’ll see orange banners, orange colored food and drinks. So don’t forget your orange t-shirt when you join us in the Orange Craze!!!

This year can be extra special because Ajax, our proud soccer team, is in the race to become the champion of Holland and the title can be ours on the 29th of April 2012 (and what a party will that be?!))!

The events across the city start from 7 pm until the early morning and are open for everybody.
Of course it is hard to choose between all of these parties.
